Liz Dahmen
Stage Director
Liz is the Founding Artistic Director of The Hudson Valley Performing Arts Laboratory. As a director, she has produced pieces for Legoland, Dixon Place, the NY Fringe Festival, and the Dorsky Museum. Since 2022, she has run the Directing Track at Vassar College’s Powerhouse Theatre Training Program. Acting credits include Varya in The Cherry Orchard at The Classic Stage Company and Stella in Ex-Antwone at PS 122. Her book, Performing Art: Using Collaborative Theatre in Art Education, will be released in 2026 and outlines her process for creating theatre in museums and utilizing visual art to catalyze performance. She has a BFA in Acting from the Tisch School of the Arts and an MA in Educational Theatre from the Steinhardt School of Education at New York University.
