Pattern Drafting
A graduate of Fashion at Ryerson, Lela Stairs is a Cutter and Costume builder with 20+ years of experience in Canada and abroad. She has served as dresser and head of backstage wardrobe for over 10 years, supervising staff and overseeing maintenance of costumes for the Studio Theatre at the Stratford Festival.
Lela worked as a cutter for the TV Series “Station Eleven” for HBO Max and worked on costumes & wardrobe for National Ballet, National Theatre School, Citadel Theatre Edmonton, Manitoba Theatre Center, and major professional theatres across Canada. Lela produced costumes for the Opening Ceremonies of the Vancouver 2010 Winter Olympics, and she has taught Pattern Drafting to both post-graduate students and industry professionals.
