Theatrical Carptentry

Jeremy Cox launched his theatre production career at the Stratford Festival where he apprenticed in prop building for eight seasons before leaving to attend Sheridan College to study furniture design.

He has since worked at OCAD University; Cuppa Coffee Animation studios in Toronto (building miniature stop-motion props and sets); and at Toronto’s TIFF Bell Lightbox, building shows such as “Tim Burton”, “Designing 007: 50 Years of Bond Style” and “X-Men Master: Gordon Smith.”  He also appeared in H2’s invention show Thingamabob (U.S.).

Jeremy worked for five seasons as Head of stage carpentry at the Grand Theatre in London. He currently works as a set builder for the Stratford Festival and freelance as a custom fabricator.

Jeremy’s teaching has taken him from Toronto to Suchitoto, El Salvador and back to Stratford, where he has taught Stage Carpentry at Off the Wall for several seasons.
