Frank Holte was born in Stratford-upon-Avon, England, and served his apprenticeship at the Royal Shakespeare Theatre Co.
Frank immigrated to Canada in 1970 where he headed the Stratford Shakespeare Festival Prop Department for 39 seasons.
Now retired, and an artist in his own right, Frank works in steel on commission pieces and teaches in Stratford and El Salvador.
His works include a 40-foot phoenix sculpture that was displayed at the Royal Ontario Museum, a statue of William Shakespeare in the garden at the Stratford Festival, and a full-sized statue of a horse in the courtyard of the Stratford General Hospital.
