Debra Hanson
set design
Debra graduated in Design from Dalhousie University, in Halifax, and the National Theatre School of Canada, in Montreal.
Her stage career began at the Stratford Festival where she designed 32 productions and served as Head of Design. Her opera credits include Jenufa and Cosi fan tutte.
Since 2009, Debra has designed costumes for numerous film and television productions, including such acclaimed series as The Handmaid’s Tale, Schitt’s Creek, Frankie Drake Mysteries, Orphan Black and Bomb Girls.
Debra has many prestigious Costume Designers Guild as well as Canadian Screen Awards to her credit; and, most recently, she won a Daytime Emmy award for her outstanding costumes on the Schitt’s Creek series.
